Choosing your course is easy with support from our Course Consultants. We understand that everyone’s goals are different, so we take the time to get to know you. Our team will help you understand enrolment requirements and guide you through your application, each step of the way.

Exceptional student support is at the heart of what we do. We know that life doesn’t happen between 9am and 5pm, so we offer extended support hours, 7 days a week. Got a question about getting started? Navigating your online classroom? Accessing your Student Hub? Speak to one of our Student Advisors, who are available 7 days a week. If life is impacting your studies, contact your Coach. You will be provided with a range of proven strategies to help you get back on track. If you’ve got a question regarding an assessment, email your Trainer who will guide you through the requirements and assessor feedback to ensure you can confidently move ahead.

If you haven’t studied online before, you may be unsure about how it all works. That’s why all new students commence their diplomas with an Introductory course of three units, allowing you to see what it’s like to study online before you commit to the diploma. When you first log in, you’ll be taken on a guided tour of your online classroom, learning how to begin your first unit, track your progress and where to go if you need support. Your online Coach will stay with you for the first two months of your course with weekly emails outlining a range of strategies and tips to ensure you establish a successful study routine, setting you up to complete your first unit in eight weeks.

Each of your units are broken into bite-sized pieces of content and assessments. Your assessments consist of quizzes, short-answer questions and tasks. Quizzes ensure you understand the content of the unit, can be undertaken multiple times and require a 70% result to move on. Short-answer questions require you to further explain your understanding of unit content, and tasks require you to apply your knowledge to a practical exercise. Your Trainer will be available to answer any questions regarding assessments, and your Assessors will provide comprehensive feedback if you are required to submit a second or third assessment attempt. There are no exams, and if you need assistance at any stage, there is help to ensure you keep moving through your diploma.

We’ll help you reach your career goals. Students studying through Swinburne Online have full access to Swinburne University of Technology’s career services. Your Swinburne Online Student Hub contains access to your online classroom guides and resources, study tools, assignment tools and technical support guides to support your studies. Your Student Hub also contains career resources designed to help you prepare for an interview, including CV preparation, developing a social media profile and interview questions. As a member of the VET Community, you’ll receive our monthly newsletter keeping you informed on career and support strategies. You’ll also hear from past students with advice that has help them succeed.

All students who study through Swinburne Online are a part of the Swinburne University of Technology community.  At the end of all your hard work you will have the opportunity to celebrate your achievement by joining other Swinburne students at Melbourne’s Exhibition and Convention Centre for graduation day. We’ll be there to help celebrate with you!

Monica completed a Diploma of Business while she was on maternity leave. “I made the decision to undertake further studies to assist me getting back into the workforce.” She loved the accessibility of online study, the support offered to students and the networking opportunities. “I am very proud of being a part of the Swinburne Online community.”

After completing a Diploma of Human Resources Management and with five years of industry experience, Elysha landed a new role as a Human Resources and Industrial Relations Officer. “I wanted to reinforce what I had learnt from my incredible mentors and colleagues over the years.” Balancing her studies and working full-time, Elysha said “Swinburne Online stood out because of the study format and support options.”

With a goal to complete higher level education and learn something new, Foti recently completed a Diploma of Business with Swinburne Online. Since completing his diploma, Foti has advanced his career and transitioned into a new, flexible role that allows him to work from home.
