About this unit
This unit will provide pre-service teachers with the theoretical perspectives of positive psychology, including positive psychology-based strategies, to support their optimal wellbeing and resilience as graduate teachers in contemporary educational settings. Pre-service teachers will examine the concept of professional wellbeing, including the key elements of wellbeing such as positive emotion, engagement, positive relationships, meaning, accomplishment and health, which are required for flourishing in the workplace. In addition, pre-service teachers will develop strategies to support their emotional intelligence, resilience, complex decision making and reflective practice in educational settings.
