About this unit
This unit builds on the foundation knowledge and skills acquired in Trade Marks & Related Rights, Patents & Designs and Copyright to understand more specialised applications of intellectual property law. The focus is on exploring areas of debate and policy development in the law of patents, design, copyright, trade marks and the law of confidential information. Students will evaluate contemporary issues in these areas. Students will also understand how these laws are relevant at a national and international level.
Content
- Evaluate Australian and international intellectual property law to support judgments and justify opinions
- Interpret statutory language related to intellectual property law
- Apply intellectual property law to new factual scenarios
- Conduct intellectual property law related research and use the results of that research in the development of a legal argument
