About this unit
The application of statistical analysis tools to business problems is an essential skill for competitive advantage. This unit of study focuses on the application of statistical tools and concepts to real-world decision making in order to motivate students to learn, understand, utilise and communicate business statistics appropriately. To enhance students’ appreciation of the power of statistics, emphasis is placed on calculator and computer based analysis, rather than manual computations. Extensive use will be made of financial/statistical calculators and inbuilt functions in MS EXCEL.
