About this unit
In this unit, students develop the skills and knowledge required to teach Literacy and the Arts in early childhood. Throughout the unit students will develop an understanding of creative pedagogies that support children’s self-expression, imagination and creativity.
They will investigate how children’s literacy and language can be developed through stories and dramatic dimensions and how the Arts contributes to the learning in the lives of children. The application of multiple methods of communication to create meaning will be undertaken. Students will also undertake professional experience for 10 days with children aged 0-2 years in an approved early childhood setting.
