Can your organisation afford a $5 million bill? That’s the global average cost of a data breach, according to the Ponemon Institute’s 2018 Cost of a Data Breach Study. All industries need future-focused leaders who can ask the right questions, identify potential areas of risk and help defend against cybercriminals. This course will give you the tools to do just that.

  • Immerse yourself in course content that captures what’s happening in industry right now and where this field is heading in the future.
  • Connect with an industry experienced Online Learning Coach who will guide your understanding of the learning materials.
  • Examine the motivations of cybercriminals and dissect the anatomy of cyberattacks.
  • Consolidate your new skills with a one-on-one mentoring session with your Online Learning Coach at the end of the course.
  • No previous cybersecurity knowledge required.

To express interest in the next intake, please email the program director.

What will you learn?

  • How hackers get in: the mindset of the attacker and the anatomy of a cyberattack.
  • How to communicate effectively as a cybersecurity leader, with internal and external stakeholders.
  • How to develop a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy, including risk mitigation.
  • How to identify and strengthen vulnerabilities in your organisation’s assets.
  • How to analyse a cyberattack.

How will I learn?

Micro units allow you to study when it’s convenient for you. While you’ll need to start and finish the unit at the same time as fellow participants, it’s up to you how and when you complete the content in between. As a general guide, we recommend you allocate 4-6 hours to your micro unit each week.

We’ve recruited industry experts as our dedicated Online Learning Coaches. They’ll guide you through the course and give you industry insights you can’t find anywhere else. You’ll cover case studies and stories from real business situations, and extra content will be available if you want to explore topics in more depth. In your final assessment, you’ll apply what you’ve learned in a professional context that’s relevant to you.

What will I get?

You may want to do a micro unit for general learning without the pressure of assessment. That’s fine – micro units are all about making study work for you.

  • If you complete the course material and pass the final assessment, you’ll receive a Certificate of
  • Completion recognising the skills and knowledge you’ve gained.
If you complete enough of the course material, but not the final assessment, you’ll still receive a Certificate of Participation.
