Support Team - your one-stop-shop for support
Online Orientation - getting ready to study
We provide students with a thorough online orientation, presented via a series of live group webinars with a tutor. These workshops cover writing and research skills, strategies for successful study and introduce our online learning systems. These workshops ensure you’ll feel confident about starting your degree, even if it has been a while since you read a textbook.
Dedicated Tutors - industry professionals
The tutors at Swinburne Online are known as eLearning Advisors (eLAs). They are passionate academic professionals with years of industry experience, specially trained for teaching online students. eLAs are your primary source of academic support, and are available to answer questions and help you through your assessments.
Assignment Assistance - help when you need it
Assignment assistance is always at hand with Your Tutor and Smart Thinking. In conjunction with your online tutor these products can provide you with on-demand feedback on assignment drafts, structure and more. On average students who utilise these services receive 15% higher marks than those who don’t!
Study Groups - students sharing knowledge
You will study each unit as part of an online study group of between 25 – 30 students, contributing your own experiences to the discussion. Facilitated by an online tutor, study groups provide an ideal forum to network with other students and utilise the knowledge of the group to support your learning.
Virtual Classroom - access your course anywhere
Learning happens in a virtual classroom through small study and discussion groups led by an industry-experienced tutor. Class sizes are small, allowing your online tutor to provide an excellent level of personalised support. In the classroom you will complete interactive learning activities, access online readings, watch instructional videos and interact with your online tutor and fellow students.
Beyond Graduation - support to find a dream job
All students have access to Swinburne's Centre for Career Development. Here you’ll have access to interview skills training, resume writing support, job application feedback and personalised advice about career planning. This service is available for two years after you graduate to make sure you land your dream job.
