SA Government Schools Claim Payment

From April 28, 2014, Department of Education and Child Development (DECD) schools and preschools will use an online Practicum Claims system that allows them to directly enter claims for supervision of pre service teachers regardless of their Australian Initial Teacher Education Provider (University). DECD Teachers are only entitled to accept payments, via the DECD payroll system, for payment of supervision of pre service teacher education students on required placements or for any other payments / allowances.

As a South Australian Department of Education and Child Development employee, it is your obligation to notify the department of any pre service teachers undertaking placement within your education setting.

South Australian Government Schools need to register the placement dates with the Department of Education and Child Development, through the DECD Claims Online Module Application Portal; www.eduportal.sa.edu.au

Your principal would have received the letter from DECD, Online Process for Practicum Claims and Invoicing, dated the 28th April 2014, outlining the new process for South Australian Government Schools supporting pre-service teachers. A copy of this letter is available below and contains detailed information about payment claims and a link to the Application Portal Help Sheets. Please also download and the below Information Sheet, Practicum Claims – The New Process, outlining the schools obligations within the new process.

For queries relating to the Practicum Claims and Online Module, please contact the DECD Service Desk on 8204 1866 or email ictsupport@sa.gov.au
