The fourth industrial revolution is here. Industry 4.0 connects the digital world to the physical one, forever changing the way we conceive products and services.

In the era of Industry 4.0, we can personalise and connect products and services more than ever before. This new mindset radically challenges traditional approaches to production. Get to know the revolutionary ways new business models are embracing Industry 4.0 and learn how to apply these principles within your own organisation.

  • Immerse yourself in course content that captures what’s happening in industry right now and where this field is heading in the future.
  • Connect with an industry experienced Online Learning Coach who will guide your understanding of the learning materials.
  • Find new ways to design and deliver customer-centric products and service models.
  • Consolidate your new skills with a one-on-one mentoring session with your Online Learning Coach at the end of the course.
  • No previous product or service design knowledge needed.

What will I learn?

  • The convergence of technologies that characterise Industry 4.0.
  • The trends and innovative business models Industry 4.0 has sparked.
  • How businesses are connecting products, platforms and services to generate new sources of revenue.
  • Which combinations of technologies you can leverage for a competitive advantage.
  • How to develop strategic frameworks that link data, intelligent devices and customers within the product development cycle.

How will I learn?

Micro units allow you to study when it’s convenient for you. While you’ll need to start and finish the unit at the same time as fellow participants, it’s up to you how and when you complete the content in between. As a general guide, we recommend you allocate 4-6 hours to your micro unit each week.

We’ve recruited industry experts as our dedicated Online Learning Coaches. They’ll guide you through the course and give you industry insights you can’t find anywhere else. You’ll cover case studies and stories from real business situations, and extra content will be available if you want to explore topics in more depth. In your final assessment, you’ll apply what you’ve learned in a professional context that’s relevant to you.

What will I get?

You may want to do a micro unit for general learning without the pressure of assessment. That’s fine – micro units are all about making study work for you.

  • If you complete the course material and pass the final assessment, you’ll receive a Certificate of Completion recognising the skills and knowledge you’ve gained.
  • If you complete enough of the course material, but not the final assessment, you’ll still receive a Certificate of Participation.
