Top spots to take time out in Victoria

Clara Devlin January 16, 2018

We all know the feeling of being inside on a beautiful Australian summer’s day working or studying, day dreaming of the countless other places we would rather be.

Unfortunately, we can’t all be on a three-month long holiday during the summer months. But it is important to take time off, with research suggesting you can even boost your productivity by taking a holiday. By giving you something to look forward to, a holiday, mini-break or even just a day trip away, can help motivate you to get things done faster.

So why not try exploring what’s in your own backyard? Here are our top places for the perfect day in Victoria this summer:

Daylesford

Located approximately an hour and a half outside of Melbourne, Daylesford is the perfect day trip filled with surprises. There’s plenty of cafés to choose from, an art gallery located in an old Convent, a mineral springs reserve and even a Lavender farm! You won’t run out of things to do in Daylesford, that’s for sure.

The Great Ocean Road

Road trip your way along the south-western coast and see all the Great Ocean Road has to offer. You can check out Torquay, Anglesea, Lorne, Apollo Bay and Port Campbell as you drive along the cliff side! Some top-notch sights to look out for include: the Great Ocean Road memorial arch, Aireys Inlet Lighthouse, London Arch and the Twelve Apostles.

Ballarat

A town of the gold rush, Ballarat has a fascinating heritage-feel with lots to see and do. Take a trip to Sovereign Hill – bringing the 1850s gold rush to life, wander the Ballarat Botanical Gardens, check out the Ballarat Art Gallery or simply browse through the town shops and cafés.

Lakes Entrance

Boasting beautiful panoramic views, a trip to Lakes Entrance may be just the thing to satisfy those holiday cravings. Visit the Ninety Mile Beach, get active on one of the many cycling tracks, dine on fresh seafood or even try your hand at some mini golf!

Wherever you decide to go, remember to relax, make some memories and learn the importance of taking time out for your overall happiness, health and future productivity.
